Student Initiatives Development Solidarity Fund (FSDIE)

Are you a student at the University of French Guyana? You can obtain social assistance or financial aid for a project of collective interestthrough the Fonds de solidarité et de développement des initiatives étudiantes (FSDIE).

La CVEC is the result of Law 2018-166 Orientation et Réussite des Étudiants (Orientation and Success for Students) of 8 March 2018, which creates "a contribution intended to promote the reception and social, health, cultural and sporting support of students and to bolster the preventive and health education actions carried out for them".

With the introduction of the Student and Campus Life Contribution (CVEC), the FSDIE has been strengthened and social assistance extended.

What is the FSDIE?

The Fonds de Solidarité et de Développement des Initiatives Étudiantes (FSDIE) is funded by a fraction of the Contribution de Vie Étudiante et de Campus (CVEC) paid before enrolment at the University of Guyana.

The FSDIE has two missions:

  • To help finance student projects in various fields (culture, humanitarian aid, sport, solidarity, the environment, civic involvement, etc.).
  • Provide financial support for students in serious difficulty or in precarious situations, in conjunction with the CROUS social services department.

How do I apply?
As part of a dematerialisation initiative, the University of French Guyana is offering you a choice of formats for the call for initiative file:

NB: In addition to normal opening hours, every Thursday the BVE focuses on individual support for student associations. Make an appointment now!

For social assistance :

What are the eligibility criteria?

Project support
The University of Guyana's Fonds de Solidarité et de Développement des Initiatives Étudiantes (FSDIE) supports and finances collective student projects of a cultural, sporting or social nature. The projects submitted must be cross-cutting for the university community (citizenship, humanitarian action, science popularisation, theatre, dance, cinema, audiovisual, music, exhibitions, sport, campus activities, etc.). Any action of a sexist, discriminatory or religiously proselytising nature will result in the application being rejected.

Please note: Only student associations that are legally registered and domiciled at the University of Guyana, and have signed the student association charter (appendix 2), will be entitled to receive the grant.

Social assistance
Social assistance may be granted to all students enrolled in initial training, on a principal basis, at the University of Guyana, for the current academic year.
Applications can be submitted to the BVE on the ground floor of Building G - Student Life
