SUAPS - Service universitaire des activités physiques et sportives

L he purpose of the SUAPS (Service Universitaire des Activités Physiques et Sportives) is to set up and supervise physical and sporting activities for all students and staff at the University of Guyana. Its mission is to provide a service for the entire community of the University of Guyana. Various physical and sporting activities are offered to all students and staff at the University. These activities can be carried out as a leisure activity, in ECL (Enseignement Complémentaire Libre) or as a free practice.

Activities

For an annual fee of 10 euros (students), you can register for up to 4 activities per semester. A team of 12 teachers, PE instructors and state-qualified sports instructors is responsible for supervising the activities, with occasional help from other staff.

Weekly activities take place at various sites:

  • On campus, in the student life building, for strength training, bodybuilding, physical maintenance/preparation, dance, etc.
  • The University Sports Complex (CSU) includes a dojo (for MMA), a hall (for badminton and volleyball). And tennis courts.
  • Hall Kévin Séraphin (Handball, Basketball, Futsal)
  • Around the lake in the Hibiscus district (active walking)
