From 2 to 6 June 2025, students at public higher education institutions will be asked to elect their representatives to the Conseil National de l'Enseignement Sup\u00e9rieur et de la Recherche (CNESER). This consultative body, which reports to the ministry, plays a key role in the strategic direction of higher education in France.<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n

The CNESER: a key body for students<\/h3>\n

The CNESER is involved in major issues relating to higher education and research establishments. It provides a forum for dialogue between students, universities and the Ministry, ensuring that the needs and expectations of students are taken into account in public decision-making.<\/p>\n

How do the elections work?<\/h3>\n

1. Election of electors (GE)<\/h4>\n

Each university must elect its grand electors from among the students elected to the central councils (CA and CAC). These elected students must nominate 4 electors. The order setting out the terms and conditions has been posted and sent to the student representatives.<\/a>.<\/p>\n

2 Election of student representatives to the CNESER<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Voters will then vote to appoint student representatives to the CNESER for a two-year term.<\/p>\n

What is a major voter?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A \"grand \u00e9lecteur\" is a student elected from among the student representatives on the central councils of his or her university. Their role is to take part in national elections by standing as a candidate and\/or voting for the student representatives on the CNESER, thereby guaranteeing student representation at national level.<\/p>\n
