The aim is to reveal talents, boost self-confidence and provide students with all the keys they need to successfully enter the world of work.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"774\" data-end=\"826\">An innovative programme focusing on soft skills<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"828\" data-end=\"1287\">Launched in May 2025, PREP'Alternance is aimed at all students wishing to join a work-linked training scheme, without any academic prerequisites. The emphasis is on developing soft skills: self-knowledge, communication, stress management, professional posture and networking. The active, fun teaching approach draws on neuroscience and personal development to stimulate commitment and progress.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1289\" data-end=\"1323\">Four sessions to reveal yourself<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1325\" data-end=\"1434\">The course is structured around four weekly two-hour workshops, for a total of eight hours:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1436\" data-end=\"2588\">\n<li data-start=\"1436\" data-end=\"1737\">\n<p data-start=\"1438\" data-end=\"1737\"><strong data-start=\"1438\" data-end=\"1486\">Session 1: Find your inner compass<\/strong><br data-start=\"1486\" data-end=\"1489\" \/>Students explore their values, passions and skills through the \u201cMy Ikigai\u201d workshop and the creation of a group charter.<br data-start=\"1625\" data-end=\"1628\" \/><em data-start=\"1630\" data-end=\"1710\">\u00abIt enabled me to get to know myself better, understand my value and express myself\u00bb,<\/em> said one participant.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1739\" data-end=\"2041\">\n<p data-start=\"1741\" data-end=\"2041\"><strong data-start=\"1741\" data-end=\"1789\">Session 2: Your track record is your strength<\/strong><br data-start=\"1789\" data-end=\"1792\" \/>Focus on enhancing experience and building professional tools (CV, covering letter).<br data-start=\"1906\" data-end=\"1909\" \/><em data-start=\"1911\" data-end=\"2013\">\u00abI've learnt to express myself better and to showcase my skills and expertise on my CV\u00bb,<\/em> sums up another student.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2043\" data-end=\"2305\">\n<p data-start=\"2045\" data-end=\"2305\"><strong data-start=\"2045\" data-end=\"2089\">Session 3: Your professional posture<\/strong><br data-start=\"2089\" data-end=\"2092\" \/>Role-playing, interview simulations and emotional management are all part of the programme.<br data-start=\"2174\" data-end=\"2177\" \/><em data-start=\"2179\" data-end=\"2282\">\u00abI've learnt to manage my audience better, while remaining in tune with myself. I've learnt to speak up\u00bb,<\/em> confided one participant.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2307\" data-end=\"2588\">\n<p data-start=\"2309\" data-end=\"2588\"><strong data-start=\"2309\" data-end=\"2361\">Session 4: Developing your professional network<\/strong><br data-start=\"2361\" data-end=\"2364\" \/>Students learn about networking methods and reflect on the professional image they wish to project.<br data-start=\"2488\" data-end=\"2491\" \/><em data-start=\"2493\" data-end=\"2561\">\u00abI've learnt to recognise myself better (character, passion, etc.)\u00bb,<\/em> said one participant.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"2590\" data-end=\"2633\">An experience welcomed by students<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2635\" data-end=\"3057\">The results are indisputable: almost all participants rated the sessions as \u201cvery satisfactory\u201d or \u201cfairly satisfactory\u201d, with an \u201cexcellent\u201d group atmosphere. The practical workshops, introspection and group dynamics were particularly appreciated. The students emphasised that they had gained in confidence, become aware of their strengths and developed concrete tools for their professional integration.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"3059\" data-end=\"3100\">Areas for improvement in the future<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3102\" data-end=\"3402\">Among the suggestions made by the students were to devote more time to certain exercises, to increase the number of speaking opportunities and to organise more social and networking events. These are just some of the ways in which the impact of the programme can be further enhanced in future editions.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"3404\" data-end=\"3449\">A springboard to work-linked training and employment<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3451\" data-end=\"3742\">With PREP'Alternance, the University of Guyana is confirming its commitment to helping young people enter the world of work. This scheme, which combines caring, high standards and educational innovation, is a real springboard for students in search of work experience and success.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"3744\" data-end=\"3901\">\n<p data-start=\"3746\" data-end=\"3901\">\u00abWe are unique, and that uniqueness is our strength. With it, we can multiply our chances of success\u00bb, sums up one enthusiastic participant.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"3903\" data-end=\"4046\">The University of Guyana is setting the tone: work-linked training is above all a human adventure, and PREP'Alternance is the best proof of this.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4048\" data-end=\"4273\">On the strength of this successful first edition, the University of Guyana is continuing the PREP'Alternance adventure. A new session took place at the beginning of July, and others are already planned for September and October.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4275\" data-end=\"4571\">Proof of its impact, this scheme has become a permanent part of the University's support offer, serving students and their professional integration.
