Their challenge is to present their research work in front of a panel of judges and a diverse, lay audience. They have 3 minutes, and not one minute more, to present their thesis topic as clearly and concisely as possible. To help them do this, they will be shown a slide and use their public speaking skills. Will they be able to convince you?<\/p>\n<h3>Four candidates, two places<\/h3>\n<p>Two prizes from the jury and a prize from internet users and the public will be awarded at the local final. Four doctoral candidates are in the running for the 2022 competition. Find out more about them:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Agathe Ala\u00efs<\/strong><br \/>\nDiscipline: Educational Sciences<br \/>\nThesis topic: The values of sport and Olympism: the condition for an education to be built or rebuilt.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alassane Kone<\/strong><br \/>\nSubject: Computer Science and Applications<br \/>\nThesis topic: Extraction and control using cellular automata and multi-agent systems for spatio-temporal dynamics. Application to desertification.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Daniela Krebber<br \/>\n<\/strong>Discipline: Environmental and population biology, ecology<br \/>\nThesis subject : <span id=\"gmail-docs-internal-guid-ff1dd54c-7fff-b413-3fe1-485dd98eac36\">How does biodiversity influence the response of tropical forests to climate change?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Paul-Emile Augusseau<\/strong><br \/>\nDiscipline: Environmental and population biology, ecology<br \/>\nThesis topic: Analysis of sea-mangrove coastline fluctuations for coastal vulnerability and carbon sequestration assessments. Multi-scale, multi-decadal modelling approach to the influence of hydro-sedimentary and climatic processes in French Guiana.<\/p>\n<h3>Experience the event online<\/h3>\n<p>This year, the local final will take place in a hybrid format. Members of the public will be able to attend the doctoral students' presentations at ENCRE (subject to availability), or via Facebook live from the Universit\u00e9 de Guyane and our partner Guyane la 1ere. Which of the finalists will convince you? You too can be a judge at this event by taking part in the \"People's Choice Award\" vote. Express your preference by visiting the dedicated platform. To vote for the candidate of your choice, go to the link below and fill in the information requested. You will receive confirmation of your registration by e-mail on 17 March 2022.
