Tradicionalmente, las palmeras se han utilizado para satisfacer las necesidades esenciales de las poblaciones locales, como la construcci\u00f3n de viviendas y la producci\u00f3n de combustibles, ceras y fibras. Tambi\u00e9n se utilizan en diversos campos, como la agroalimentaci\u00f3n, la cosm\u00e9tica y la medicina tradicional, contribuyendo de forma significativa al desarrollo econ\u00f3mico gracias a su variada composici\u00f3n fitoqu\u00edmica.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, a pesar de su importancia, la composici\u00f3n fitoqu\u00edmica de las palmeras de la Guayana Francesa, con la notable excepci\u00f3n de Euterpe oleraceae (A\u00e7ai o wassaye), sigue siendo en gran parte desconocida. La especie Acrocomia aculeata, en particular, presenta interesantes similitudes con el aceite de oliva en cuanto a su composici\u00f3n de \u00e1cidos grasos, lo que sugiere un elevado potencial de utilizaci\u00f3n en el sector agroalimentario. Las investigaciones tambi\u00e9n han revelado la presencia de glucomananos at\u00edpicos en los frutos de esta palmera, lo que abre la v\u00eda a nuevas aplicaciones. Explotando este recurso de forma sostenible, es posible contribuir a la diversificaci\u00f3n econ\u00f3mica preservando al mismo tiempo la riqueza natural de la Amazonia.<\/p>\n<h3>Acrocomia aculeata: una especie con m\u00faltiples propiedades<\/h3>\n<p>El fruto de la palma Acrocomia aculeata es rico en aceites poliinsaturados, entre los que destacan el \u00e1cido oleico (9), el \u00e1cido linoleico (6) y el \u00e1cido linol\u00e9nico (3). Esta composici\u00f3n ha llevado a utilizar el aceite extra\u00eddo de este fruto como fuente de energ\u00eda en el campo de los biocombustibles, especialmente en Brasil, donde su producci\u00f3n est\u00e1 sujeta a control. Esta creciente demanda estimul\u00f3 la creaci\u00f3n en 2004 de una cadena entre industriales para la producci\u00f3n de biodi\u00e9sel y agricultores para el cultivo de estas palmeras.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, se han dedicado pocos estudios al desarrollo de Acrocomia aculeata en la Guayana Francesa. Una parte del trabajo de tesis de Wilfried Denagbe, dirigido por Thierry Benvegnu (Profesor Universitario de Qu\u00edmica), Didier Bereau (HDR, Profesor Universitario de Qu\u00edmica), Jean Charles Robinson (Profesor Universitario de Bioqu\u00edmica) y Rudy Covis (Profesor Titular de Qu\u00edmica), ha permitido profundizar en el tema. Estos trabajos han permitido desarrollar y optimizar los m\u00e9todos de extracci\u00f3n de los gl\u00facidos presentes en la pulpa del fruto (mesocarpio), as\u00ed como dilucidar la estructura qu\u00edmica de los glucomananos at\u00edpicos (oligo\/polisac\u00e1ridos) mediante espectrometr\u00eda de resonancia magn\u00e9tica nuclear.<\/p>\n<p>Estos estudios han contribuido a profundizar en el conocimiento cient\u00edfico de los frutos de esta palmera, que se encuentra a lo largo de toda la costa guayanesa. Se pusieron de relieve las propiedades fisicoqu\u00edmicas de los glucommananos at\u00edpicos presentes en los frutos, en particular su capacidad de hinchamiento, su comportamiento reol\u00f3gico y sus propiedades tensioactivas. Adem\u00e1s, se explor\u00f3 la posibilidad de funcionalizar los glucommananos mediante esterificaci\u00f3n y se caracteriz\u00f3 la capacidad de estos polisac\u00e1ridos anfif\u00edlicos para formar nanovectores por autoensamblaje mediante t\u00e9cnicas de dispersi\u00f3n din\u00e1mica de luz y microscop\u00eda. De este modo, demostramos su potencial para encapsular una sonda fluorescente lipof\u00edlica y monitorizamos la estabilidad de estos nanoobjetos a lo largo del tiempo para la liberaci\u00f3n controlada de mol\u00e9culas biol\u00f3gicamente activas.<\/p>\n<p>Finalmente, este trabajo dio lugar a la publicaci\u00f3n de un art\u00edculo cient\u00edfico aceptado el 17 de octubre de 2023 y publicado el 19 de octubre de 2023 en la revista Carbohydrate polymers, IF 11,2) titulado \"Structure and emulsifying properties of unprecedented glucomannan oligo- and polysaccharides from Amazonia Acrocomia aculeata palm fruit\", realizado en colaboraci\u00f3n entre el laboratorio COVAPAM y el laboratorio de qu\u00edmica org\u00e1nica e interfase (CORINT) de la Escuela Nacional Superior de Qu\u00edmica de Rennes (ENSCR), que desarrolla materias primas de origen natural para aplicaciones sanitarias.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\t\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>
