De lezing vindt plaats op donderdag 17 februari 2022 om 18.00 uur in Amphith\u00e9\u00e2tre A. Maskers zijn verplicht.<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element\" >\n\t<p><span class=\"nectar-dropcap\" >A <\/span>n Brazili\u00eb, net als in andere Zuid-Amerikaanse landen, is het dooprituele verwantschapscomplex (peetschap en kameraadschap) van groot belang. De relaties die gesmeed worden tussen generaties, tussen peetouders en petekinderen, of binnen dezelfde generatie, tussen broers en\/of zussen, spelen een sleutelrol in de onderlinge verbondenheid en integratie van sociale groepen met verschillende, en soms tegengestelde, sociale en economische belangen.<br \/>\nOp basis van etnografisch onderzoek en de geschriften van historici, antropologen en folkloristen maakt deze conferentie de balans op van de Braziliaanse praktijken van 'midzomer sponsoring en wedstrijden', met name in de regio Nordeste. Deze vinden plaats in de nacht van 23 op 24 juni, wanneer feestelijke praktijken en lokale rituelen plaatsvinden die verwantschapsrelaties vastleggen in het huwelijks- en\/of doopregister. Deze relaties, die worden geplaatst onder het vaandel van Sint Jan, de peetvader van Christus, stellen ons in staat om de vormen, functies en sociale en politieke kwesties te onderzoeken die op het spel staan in deze manifestaties van het zogenaamde 'populaire' katholicisme.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ug_container-yellow\">\n<p><strong>Informatie over de spreker<br \/>\n<\/strong>Agn\u00e8s CLERC-RENAUD, antropologe, is sinds 2020 lid van het laboratorium Ecology, Evolution and Interactions of Amazonian Systems (LEEISA, USR 3456 CNRS-UG-Ifremer) en is professor aan de Universiteit van Guyana, waar ze de master Civilisations, Cultures and Societies: Societies and Interculturality co\u00f6rdineert. Ze verdedigde haar HDR, getiteld Des pratiques langagi\u00e8res aux catholicismes locaux et retours: p\u00e9r\u00e9grinations comparatives depuis le Nordeste br\u00e9silien aan de Universit\u00e9 Sorbonne Paris-Cit\u00e9 in 2019. Haar onderzoek is gebaseerd op langlopende etnografische enqu\u00eates onder boeren en vissers in de Braziliaanse Nordeste (Bahia, Cear\u00e1) en richt zich op de praktijken en representaties van lokale katholicismes. Ze is ook ge\u00efnteresseerd in taalpraktijken en milieuantropologie, en meer in het algemeen in situaties van intercultureel contact als promotors van sociale verandering.
