The course

The 1era The first year of the specific health access pathway (PASS) gives access to the following medical courses: medicine, pharmacy, dentistry and midwifery, as well as the paramedical course of massage and physiotherapy.

The course is divided into two semesters and combines theoretical and practical teaching. It uses information and communication technologies.

Courses are given face-to-face, by videoconference with the University of the West Indies or on video.

The teaching team is made up of hospital practitioners, university professors and lecturers from the universities of French Guyana, the Antilles and Bordeaux.

In 2023-2024, PASS Guyane will offer:

  • 18 places in medicine
  • 2 places in Pharmacy
  • 2 Odontology places
  • 4 places in midwifery
  • 1 place in physiotherapy

In 2023-2024, LAS Guyane proposes:

  • 10 places in medicine
  • 2 places in Pharmacy
  • 1 place in Odontology
  • 2 places in midwifery

Admission

Recruitment level : Bachelor's degree in science strongly recommended
Accessible in : Initial training.
Training required : Baccalauréat with a strong scientific bias.
Conditions admission : applications and registrations on the ParcourSup platform.

Courses

  • For students admitted to 2nd year of Medicine or of Odontologya compulsory introductory nursing courseAn unpaid morning shift in the same establishment is organised in the university hospitals of Pointe à Pitre and Fort de France and the Cayenne hospital during the July/August period. Students must be available and at the disposal of the faculty until they are notified of their assignment. Students must produce a medical certificate stating that they are up to date with compulsory vaccinations (Hepatitis B vaccination) to work in a hospital department.
  • For students admitted to 2nd year of Pharmacya compulsory pharmacy internship initiationThis six-week unpaid placement must be completed on a full-time and continuous basis, before the start of the second year, in the same place of training, either in a pharmacy open to the public, or in a mutualist pharmacy, or a pharmacy belonging to a mining relief society.
