Boards, commissions and committees

L he University of Guyana is headed by a President elected for a four-year term, supported by central councils, in particular the Board of Directors and the Academic Council. The President implements his policies with the help of a presidential team, including vice-presidents. The life of the university is governed democratically by councils and committees, made up of teaching and administrative staff, student representatives and outside figures.

Main bodies

Board of Directors Board of Directors: A key decision-making body, the Board determines the school's policy by defining the major strategic orientations.

Academic Council Academic Affairs: Responsible for academic issues, he ensures the quality and consistency of training and research.

Social Committee Technical Committee: The Technical Committee merges with the Hygiene, Safety and Working Conditions Committee to deal with issues relating to working conditions, health and safety, and the organisation and running of the university.
