
Are you a student or staff member at the University of Guyana and do you have an idea for a high-impact project? The Fonds de Solidarité et de Développement des Initiatives Étudiantes (FSDIE) is here to help you make it a reality!
This scheme supports initiatives aimed at students, whether they are run by students, student associations or UG staff.
Two schemes depending on the nature of your project
FSDIE - AAI (Call for Ideas)
- For individual initiatives or initiatives led by a small group of students and/or UG staff who have not formed an association.
FSDIE - Call for projects
- For projects run by a student association based at the University of Guyana.
Priority themes
Projects must be in line with the objectives of the 2024-2027 Student Life Master Plan, based on the following three priorities:
Area 1: Student orientation and integration
- Promoting the value of university courses and life through innovative formats
Examples: video clips, escape games on careers guidance, immersive activities. - Bringing together the various campuses of the University of Guyana
Examples: creation and running of an alumni network, organisation of a unifying event between the three sites (Cayenne, Kourou, Saint-Laurent).
Area 2: Community, cultural and sporting life and student involvement
- Encouraging student commitment to a more sustainable university
Examples: projects linked to the social economy, waste reduction, shared gardens, responsible markets on campus. - Improving access to culture on all campuses
Examples: mobile film club, artistic residencies, student festivals. - Developing sports facilities on campus
Examples: “Sport for All” days, setting up or supporting student sports associations.
Area 3: Prevention, health and students' rights
- Combating discrimination and sexual and gender-based violence
Examples: prevention initiatives, awareness campaigns, group workshops.
