Are you a student or member of staff at the University of Guyana? Are you a creative person? Do you like to write, draw, paint or take photos? Express your talent with the "10 years of Histo'Art" competition.

The Université de Guyane is proud to announce the launch of its multi-disciplinary art competition entitled "10 years of Histo'Art! Whether you are a student, member of administrative staff or teacher, if you have an artistic talent to share, this competition is for you!

This art competition is a unique opportunity to express your talent through various art forms such as photography, comics, short stories, paintings, collages, poems, drawings and much more (see rules). The winners will have the chance to win a tablet as well as having their work exhibited and presented at events organised to celebrate the UG's 10th anniversary.

The aim of this competition is to promote encounters and encourage artistic and cultural practices within the University of Guyana. It offers a unique platform to share your talent with the university community and beyond, while celebrating a decade of history together.

Who can take part?

The competition is open to all students, whatever their course of study, as well as to individual members of staff, both administrative and teaching. Whether you're an established artist, a passionate amateur, or simply someone who wants to explore their creativity, this competition is an ideal opportunity to showcase your artistic talents.

How can you take part?

Express your vision of the UG through your favourite artistic talent. Whether it's a photo that captures the spirit of the university, a work of art that represents its evolution, or words that describe what the UG means to you, all forms of artistic expression are welcome. Send your creation by email (to bve@univ-guyane.fr ) before 12 noon on 4 March 2024 and/or submit it to the BVE, to be in with a chance of winning the prize.

How will the winners be selected?

A jury made up of artists and members of the Cultural Commission will meet to select a winning entry in each category. Staff and students will also have the opportunity to vote online for their favourite creations. Jury and public votes will each count at 50%, ensuring a fair selection of winners.
