Objectives

  • Acquire the knowledge and skills needed to manage all tropical diseases in children, in terms of diagnosis, treatment and prevention.
  • Understanding the specific nature of health problems in particularly vulnerable children

Target skills

Acquiring and developing the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to care for and monitor children in tropical environments:

  • Monitoring healthy children
  • Monitoring vulnerable children
  • Diagnosis of pathologies
  • Therapeutic management

Admission

Access to the DU :

This course is aimed at :

  • French and foreign medical doctors
  • French and foreign doctors of pharmacy
  • Paediatricians, infectious diseases specialists, general practitioners, public health doctors, pharmacists
  • Interns in paediatrics, infectious diseases, general medicine, public health and pharmacy from the 5th semester.

Instructions concerning the application procedure are posted on the Université de Guyane website during the annual admissions campaign. Applications and administrative registration are made online

  • UE 1 - UE 1 Bacterial and viral diseases: 40 hours
  • EU 2 Parasitic and mycotic diseases: 15 hours
  • EU 3 Emerging diseases: 05 hours
  • UE 4 Non-infectious diseases: 48 hours
  • EU 5 Introduction to epidemiology and clinical research: 12 hours
  • EU 6 Work placement: 35 hours
