Objectives
- Be familiar with the main families of anti-infectives, their main indications and undesirable side-effects
- Be familiar with the anti-infective treatment of the main infectious diseases, both tropical and non-tropical Be familiar with the risks of antibiotic misuse, particularly in terms of antibiotic resistance.
Target skills
- By the end of the course, learners should be aware of the importance of «prescribing the right antibiotic».
- They will need to have the relevant knowledge to be able to prescribe and monitor antibiotic therapy independently, while knowing when and where to seek specific advice.

Other people who do not have the necessary prerequisites (e.g. representatives of the pharmaceutical industry) can apply for the Validation of Acquired Experience (VAP) (Decree no. 2013-756 of 19 August 2013).
Access to training without graduation
Applications from people from other groups who do not meet the conditions listed above (pre-requisites) will be considered after a preliminary interview with those in charge of the course.
These learners will not sit the final exam and will receive a training certificate.
Admission requirements
Admission is based on an application including a CV, qualifications and a covering letter explaining the applicant's career plans. A selection committee will decide on all applications, with equal numbers of medical and non-medical candidates. The number of places per academic year is set at 30.
