LE PPPE : objectif professeur des écoles

The "Parcours préparatoire au professorat des écoles" (3PE or PPPE), which will be available from the start of the 2021 academic year in 22 académies, is being offered for the first time to students in the final year of secondary school. It is available on the Parcoursup platform.

C his degree course is taught on a sandwich basis between a secondary school and the university, with teams of specialist instructors: secondary school teachers, teacher-researchers, school teachers and inspectors. Each pathway will accommodate classes of around 30 to 40 students.

It offers gradual professionalisation and universitarisation over the three years of the bachelor's degree, with practical observation placements and even an international mobility placement in the 3rd year of the bachelor's degree.

There are a number of objectives:

  • From the first year of the degree, prepare for a specific career as a school teacher, while obtaining a general degree;
  • Take specialised, research-based courses at university to prepare for the degree of your choice: mathematics, literature, education science, science, economic and social administration, visual arts, etc.

As well as obtaining a national bachelor's degree, students benefit from specific teaching to strengthen their subject knowledge and give them a better understanding of teaching in schools.

This pathway is open for the first time this year on Parcoursup. French Guiana is the only Académie to have been granted two pathways. Students will be able to choose between :

  • The "Mathematics" pathway at the Lycée Bertène Juminer in Saint-Laurent du Maroni,
  • The "Literature" course at Lycée Melkior Garré in Cayenne.

This degree course leads to a general bachelor's degree, which can be extended by a master's degree in teaching in primary schools (MEEF 1er degré), followed by the competitive examination for primary school teachers.

High school students can now apply for this course, a genuine preparatory class for the profession of school teacher, at Parcoursup.
