University of Guyana students, now is the time to get involved!
The 2024 student elections are fast approaching, and they represent a unique opportunity to make your voice heard and play an active part in the democratic life of our university. Whether you are studying in Cayenne, Kourou or Saint-Laurent du Maroni, your vote counts.

The elections will be held on different dates:
Tuesday 26 November 2024 for students from the Medical and Health Sciences UFR, the IUT and the INSPE.
Wednesday 27 November 2024 for the elections of student representatives to the Central Councils of the University of Guyana.
The polling stations will be located on different campuses: Cayenne (Campus de Troubiran), Kourou and Saint-Laurent du Maroni. All students can easily get to their polling station to take part.
Why vote?
These elections are an opportunity for you to shape the future of the University of Guyana. By electing your representatives, you will have a direct say in decisions concerning student life, training and the university's plans for the future. Your elected representatives will be there to defend your rights, your needs and your aspirations.
Whether you are enrolled in continuing education, the IUT, the INSPE, the DFR Sciences et Technologies (ST), Sciences Juridiques et Economiques (SJE), Lettres et Sciences Humaines (LSH) or the UFR en sciences médicales et de la santé, it is your representatives who will carry your voice within the central bodies. By voting, you choose the students who will take your concerns to the decision-making bodies. Whether it's improving living conditions on campus, modernising infrastructure or proposing innovative projects, your voice can make a difference.
Who can vote?
All students enrolled at the university, including continuing education students, are entitled to vote. Don't forget your identity document (student card, ID card or other accepted proof of identity) to gain access to the ballot boxes. You can even vote by proxy if you can't be there!
How can you take part?
Voting: Go to the polling stations on the day, cast your ballot and take part in the democratic life of your university.
Being a candidate : Want to go further? Submit a list application to become a student representative before midday on 13 November 2024. You can also support the candidates by taking part in their campaign.

Would you like to go further? Why not become a candidate? If you have ideas, projects and a vision for improving university life, now is the ideal time to put yourself forward. Applications must be submitted by noon on Wednesday 13 November 2024. As a candidate, you will be joining a democratic process where your ideas will have a concrete impact.
Practical information
Vote in person or by proxy: if you cannot be present on polling day, you can vote by proxy. Just make sure that your proxy is registered on the same electoral roll as you.
Apply to vote by proxy at daji@univ-guyane.fr. A numbered form will be sent to you and must be completed and returned.
Display of electoral lists: consult the electoral lists displayed on university premises to check your registration.
