From 1 July, students wishing to enrol or re-enrol at university must pay a new contribution: the CVEC (Contribution Vie Etudiante et de Campus - Student and Campus Life Contribution).
Art. L. 841-5. - I. - A contribution intended to encourage the reception and social, health, cultural and sporting support of students and to bolster the preventive and health education initiatives aimed at them is set up for the benefit of public higher education establishments, the establishments mentioned in articles L. 443-1 and L. 753-1 of this Code or article L. 1431-1 of the General Local Authorities Code providing initial higher education courses, private higher education establishments of general interest and the regional centres for university and school works.

Before registering or re-registering at the university, you must log on to : https://www.messervices.etudiant.gouv.fr/
Section -> Student and Campus Life Contribution (available at the beginning of July 2018). If you already have an account (new baccalaureate holders, scholarship holders, etc.) please identify yourself, otherwise give your INE number and a provisional number will be allocated to you.

Worth €90 in 2018-2019, this contribution only has to be paid once, even if you are enrolled at more than one school..

What is the CVEC?
The CVEC helps to develop services that are useful in your daily life:
- For your health | Improving access to healthcare on campus and renewing the prevention policy.
- To promote social support
- To support your initiatives
- Developing sports on campus
- Bringing art and culture to life in higher education establishments
- To improve student reception
Who needs to take this step?
All students must visit the national site from 1 July and before enrolling at the Universityto obtain a certificate. The certificate number is must be entered on the online registration application. The certificate must be presented on the day of registration by both exempt students and students liable for payment. No registration will be finalised in the absence of a certificate.
Who is exempt?
- CROUS grant holders on social criteria
- Refugee students
- Students benefiting from subsidiary protection
- Students registered as asylum seekers who have the right to remain in France
Special cases
- If you are enrolled in initial training through apprenticeshipsyou must take the necessary steps.
- If you are enrolled in CPGE (Classe Préparatoire aux Grandes Écoles) under agreement with the University, you must take the necessary steps for your enrolment at university. You can pay or be exempted depending on your situation.
- If you are enrolled in continuing education you are not concerned by this contribution. You don't have to do anything.
- If you are a student hosted on international exchangeIf you live in France, you are not affected by this contribution. You don't have to do anything.
