For the 3rd time, Guyane Développement Innovation (GDI) is organising ActInSpace in French Guiana, in partnership with the IUT in Kourou! A hackathon dedicated to space applications will be held on 24 & 25 April 2020 on the Bois Chaudat campus of the Kourou IUT.
Objectives:
- Promoting the use of space technologies for the benefit of citizens, employment and the planet
- Developing entrepreneurship and collaboration
- Introducing the innovations of the future
For 24 hours non-stop, participants will work in teams on a variety of challenges. Coaches and experts in a range of fields will be on hand to support participants throughout the event, with the aim of helping tomorrow's start-ups to emerge!
24 hours to invent tomorrow's services using space technologies
Building on its previous successes (35 start-ups created and supported by 16 international partners since the 1st edition), ActInSpace, designed by CNES and its partner ESA, will be launched in over 50 countries and will bring together almost 5,000 participants!
They will be able to use space technology to develop a new service, product or application in another sector (security, transport, environmental protection, drones, 3D, etc.). The various challenges will be available at the end of February.
At the end of the 24 hours, the teams will present their projects to a panel of professionals and will be awarded prizes. The team that wins 1st Prize will have the chance to defend its project at the "Meett in Space" event in Toulouse, for the international final on 18 & 19 June 2020.
Take this unique opportunity to get in touch with the world of space! There are no pre-requisites, no qualifications are required and it's all free! You can register individually at www.actinspace.org from 29 February 2020.
