To mark the 31st Science Festival, the University of Guyana is organising the Science Village on 25 and 26 November 2022. This is an event that brings together players in the fields of research, innovation, land management, education and culture, all to the delight of science lovers.
L he 31st fête de la science kicked off on 10 November 2022. Every year, this national event brings together people involved in research, innovation, land management, education and culture for 2 weeks of free activities and meetings open to everyone!
For the 11th year running, Guyana's CCSTI la Canopée des Sciences is coordinating the regional programme, with the participation of a number of organisations involved in scientific culture.
To mark the occasion, the University of Guyana will be opening the doors of the Troubiran Campus to schools and colleges on 25 November, as well as to the general public on 26 November 2022, to round off the event at the "Science Village".
The Science Village is a not-to-be-missed event at the Université de Guyane. This year, in addition to the original Clim'Art project, the university will be welcoming no fewer than thirty project leaders to its campus to present a wide range of projects, workshops, experiments and other fun activities focusing on the challenges of climate change, but not exclusively. Some of the stands will even be manned by students, such as the astronomy club from Auxence Contout secondary school.
An entire stand will be dedicated to the protected areas of French Guiana, coordinated by the Conservatoire d'Espaces Naturels. You'll be able to meet the people who manage these extraordinary areas, and find out more about the issues at stake in these zones, which are still relatively untouched by human activity.
The village will be punctuated by screenings of short and medium-length films, exhibitions, workshops, a visit to the TBIP laboratory, lectures on this year's theme: climate change, mitigation and adaptation, and many other original events. Everyone, whatever their age or level of scientific knowledge, will be able to take a critical look at the challenges of today's changes.
We look forward to seeing many of you there.
