Robotique et automatisation pour une industrie verte

The Science and Technology DFR is organising a seminar on robotics and automation for green industry. It will take place on Wednesday 7 December 2022 at 12 noon in Amphithéâtre C. It will be presented by Jetro Kenneth Pocorni, Senior Lecturer in Industrial Production Systems at Linnaeus University (LNU).

D uring this seminar, the current state of robotics and automation will be presented. The focus will be on technological developments in the Swedish manufacturing industry. Currently, industrial robots and manufacturing systems are faced with "low volume" production, with planning factors that change dynamically and rapidly, and flexible processes. It will be shown how Linnaeus University's demonstration environments are being used to meet these production challenges.

The seminar will cover IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things), cyber-physical systems, human-robot collaboration and 3D printing. Examples will be presented from the Swedish forestry and timber industries, as well as the automotive industry.
During the seminar, particular attention will be paid to demonstrating the evolution of automation towards fully autonomous systems. This change in technology is a key catalyst for flexible and sustainable production, and for bringing manufactured products to market more quickly.

Presentation of Jetro Kenneth Pocorni
Jetro Kenneth Pocorni is a lecturer in industrial production systems at Linnaeus University (LNU). He is co-leader of the SIG - Smart Industry Group within the Laboratory of the EPIC Innovation and Technology Centre (Växjö). The SIG is an interdisciplinary research group with expertise in computer science and mechanical engineering.
He received his PhD from Luleå University of Technology in Sweden in 2017. His doctoral thesis focused on experimental cutting, drilling and laser drilling processes. In spring 2016, Jetro worked as a visiting researcher at KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) on laser drilling simulations. Jetro obtained his MSc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Twente in the Netherlands and holds a BSc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Anton de Kom in Suriname.
