An educational comic strip on research data created at the university library!

E he course is entitled "Taking stock of research data with Sorella", and is aimed at doctoral students and researchers with a view to helping them adopt these new scientific practices, which are highly recommended at national and international level. It was co-financed by the Paris URFIST (Ecole nationale des Chartes - PSL), to whom we extend our warmest thanks. Marie Latour wrote the script for this comic strip, which was based on a course given at the university library by Annaïg Mahé (a research professor at the Paris URFIST) when the BU invited her to take part in the Open Access Week organised in 2021. Annaïg Mahé also played a major role in proofreading and correcting the script and proofs of the comic strip. The drawings were produced by a professional cartoonist, Olivier Copin, and the graphic design was entrusted to a professional graphic designer who also lives locally (Bénédicte Sauvage, from BCOM). A number of proofreaders helped to finalise this version, including Romain Feret (director of Média Normandie), Cyril Heude (data-librarian at Sciences Po Paris), Amélie Barrio (co-head of Urfist Occitanie), as well as Benjamin Caraco (deputy director of the BIU at the University of Strasbourg) and Sylvain Houdebert (director of the University of the West Indies).

The comic strip has been placed under a Creative Commons BY NC SA licence, which means that it can be freely reused and modified, provided that the University of Guyana is cited. It follows on from the first volume on bibliometrics, which retains the main characters, the general atmosphere and the generally humorous tone (you can also find the first volume on bibliometrics at this address: https://zenodo.org/records/3932024). We have printed copies of these two comics, which you can obtain on request from the university library.

The university library also plans, if it can find the necessary funding, to have the comic translated into English so that it can be distributed to the international university community.
