Are you passionate about education, and dream of sharing your knowledge with children by becoming a school teacher? Then look no further than the Preparatory Course for School Teachers (3PE), designed just for you!
Q hat is 3PE?
The Preparatory Course for the Teaching Profession is a multi-disciplinary, professionalising course designed to prepare students for the teaching profession. Accessible from the first year of the bachelor's degree, this course requires applications to be submitted via the PARCOURSUP website, similar to other university bachelor's degrees.
Over the three years of the course, students will benefit from :
- General Culture at the Lycée : Courses focusing on the core subjects of French and maths, as well as all the other subjects taught at primary school, including history-geography, science, modern languages, music and physical education and sport (PE).
- University courses : Specialised, research-oriented courses, enabling students to prepare for the degree of their choice, whether in humanities or mathematics.
- Practical courses : Periods of observation in the field, with even the possibility of a 4-week international mobility placement in the third year of the degree. This offers a continuous progression towards professionalisation and universitarisation throughout the course.
Opportunities in the Académie de Guyane
In the Académie de Guyane, you have two options:
- Licence de Lettres : Offered at the Lycée Melkior-Garré in Cayenne and on the university campus, this degree offers a complete immersion in the field of literature.
- Degree in Mathematics : Delivered exclusively in Saint-Laurent du Maroni, in partnership with the Lycée Bertène Juminer, this degree enables students to immerse themselves in the world of mathematics. Teachers from the university even travel to the lycée to give university courses.
What opportunities are there after the 3PE?
This degree programme leads to a general bachelor's degree. Students can then go on to do a master's degree in teaching (MEEF 1er degré) and take the competitive examination for school teachers (CRPE), marking the start of an exciting career in education.
