In 2025, the University of Guyana is pursuing its commitment to an ambitious digital transformation, designed as a lever for progress for its entire community.
Thirteen cross-functional projects, defined and prioritised by the Board of Governors, structure this approach. They reflect a clear determination to make our tools more effective, simplify procedures, strengthen security and offer everyone - students, teachers, researchers and staff - a more fluid and efficient digital environment.
Some of these projects have already been completed, marking tangible progress for the life of our university. Others are still being rolled out and will continue to develop in 2026, guaranteeing continuous and sustainable improvement.
Le Digital Master Plan is at the heart of the project: it is not yet being implemented, but a crucial preparatory phase involving the search for project management assistance. This stage will enable us to define precisely the strategy and priorities that will guide the development of our university in the medium and long term.
Other flagship projects include modernisation of the multimedia equipment in amphitheatre A, installation of simulation rooms for the IFSI, development of doctoral student management tools (ADUM) or the continued dematerialisation of administrative procedures.
We should also mention the introduction of the decision-making information system, the SID-STERENNES which enables us to view our data, monitor our indicators and produce dashboards to meet the requirements of our ministry and the surveys carried out by various government bodies (Cour des Comptes, HCERES, etc.).
These initiatives testify to our determination to put digital technology at the service of research, teaching and administrative efficiency.
Together, we are building a university that looks to the future, capable of supporting the scientific, educational and societal transformations of our region. Digital technology has a key role to play here, not as an end in itself, but as a collective tool serving the success and influence of the University of Guyana.
