On Tuesday 22 November 2016, elections will be held for student representatives on the Board of Directors of the CROUS des Antilles et de la Guyane. A meeting has been organised in advance, on Thursday 17 November in Amphi E at 12 noon, to present the candidates and their programmes.

It is important for students to be represented on the boards of the Crous so that they can assert their rights to social assistance, accommodation, catering and culture. To achieve this, it is vital that students get involved and vote for their candidate.

How do the elections work?

There are 7 representatives, divided into 3 geographical electoral colleges:

  • Three representatives for Guadeloupe,
  • Three representatives for Martinique,
  • A representative for French Guiana.

They attend CROUS Board meetings (at least twice a year), where they represent the views of all students when decisions are made. They are directors and have voting rights.

To apply, you need a student card.

The lists are composed as follows Six candidates for Guadeloupe (three full members and three alternates), six candidates for Martinique (three full members and three alternates) and two candidates for French Guyana (one full member and one alternate).

You can only be a candidate on one list. The lists were submitted on Monday 07 November 2016.

Each list of candidates is made up alternately of one candidate of each sex. The principle of strict alternation between men and women which now prevails for these elections, under penalty of non-registration of the lists.

The ballot

Several polling stations and polling subdivisions will be set up in each academy. You will be notified of their location at a later date. Voting takes place on presentation of a valid student card. Voting is by proportional representation with the highest average.
