L ewcomers to the University of Guyana will be welcomed in Amphi A by two separate groups: the first comprising the DFR ST, STAPS, DFR LSH, and LEMMA, and the second comprising the DFR Santé, DFR SJE, and the IUTs of Cayenne and Kourou. The day will begin with an opening speech by the President of the UG, followed by a video presenting student services and testimonials from former students. The groups will then be looked after by student tutors at specific times.
The student village will open with information stands and health and well-being workshops. An integration barbecue will be organised for the lunch break at the CROUS university restaurant. The afternoon will be devoted to various integration activities, including Zumba, an introduction to drumming and dancing, a workshop to make traditional Guyanese accessories, a business game, a quiz session and a TikTok area with activities inspired by the platform.
