L he Board of Governors is the key decision-making body that determines the institution's policy. Responsible for defining the major strategic orientations, it ensures that the University of Guyana pursues its academic, scientific and cultural objectives in a coherent and effective manner. It votes on the budget and the allocation of grants and jobs. The Board deliberates on the opinions and wishes of the Academic Council and elects the President of the University every 4 years.
