Enquête relative à l’insertion professionnelle des étudiants

On 7 January 2021, the University of Guyana launched a major survey to find out about the employment situation of its graduates. The survey will be online until 24 February 2021.

T ll graduates of initial training at the University of Guyana from 2016 to 2020 (excluding D.U), i.e. D.U.T, bachelor's degrees, professional bachelor's degrees, master's degrees (1-2) and doctorates, i.e. 2,518 people, are concerned by this survey. Individuals were only included once in the database, in their last year of graduation.

The design and specifications for this survey were carried out by the OVE-IP- DOSIP University of Guyana, in collaboration with the university's IT services and the observatory of student life at the University of Montpellier.

The questions are largely taken from the MESRI (Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation) professional integration surveys.

The processing and analysis of the data will be outsourced to the Sphinx survey institute, and the results of this survey will be available in March 2021.

The survey has a number of objectives:

  • Evaluate how university graduates fit into the professional world.
  • Helping to inform the public, students, parents, governors and trustees.
  • Strengthen the role of supporting students in building their academic and career paths.

The stakes of this survey are high, as it will provide a snapshot of the situation of graduates from the University of Guyana on 1 December 2020. Surveys to measure the professional integration of graduates are organised every year by the MESRI's SIES department. However, the results for French Guyana are agglomerated with those for the whole of France, often with the notation Non Significant (NS) induced by an analysis sample that is too small. The aim of this survey is therefore to gain a better understanding of the current situation of graduates from the University of Guyana, as a whole, by field and by course.

The results will be communicated to other university departments, teaching staff and the general public strictly anonymously: no personal data will be communicated. The data collected will be processed electronically in order to draw up statistics and measure the professional integration of graduates. The recipients will be the departments of the University of Guyana and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation. This questionnaire is confidential. Law no. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 on information technology, files and civil liberties guarantees individuals the right to access and rectify information concerning them. This right may be exercised by contacting the Data Protection Officer at the University of Guyana at the following address: chrystel.clery-tamarin@univ-guyane.fr
