Elections for student representatives on the National Council for Higher Education and Research (CNESER) will be held from Monday 7 to Friday 18 June 2021. Eleven seats for student representatives (11 full members and 11 alternates) are to be filled on the CNESER, for a 2-year term of office.
L e National Council for Higher Education and Research is an advisory body reporting to the Minister for Higher Education or the Minister for Research. It gives an opinion on issues relating to the missions entrusted to public scientific, cultural and professional establishments in cases covered by the Education Code (L. n°2013-660 of 22 July 2013, art.20-4° ) and to public research establishments, covered by articles L. 311-1 and L. 311-2 of the Research Code, in cases covered by the Research Code.
The CNESER also has a disciplinary function.
Indirect suffrage The only electors called to vote are those who sit on the Academic Council and the Board of Directors of the University of Guyana and were appointed on Friday 23 April.

The voting material will be sent to the University of Guyana during the week of 17 May by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESRI). As soon as they are received, and given the health crisis, the University of Guyana's legal affairs department will send the envelopes, lists of candidates and professions de foi to the four main voters by post.
Electors will vote by post. They have until midnight on 18 June 2021 to send in their ballot paper. Reference texts
