The Service Universitaire de Médecine Préventive et de Promotion de la Santé (SUMPPS) (University Preventive Medicine and Health Promotion Service) is organising a week of events devoted to well-being, aimed at students, from 20 to 24 March 2023.
Workshops to suit all tastes
Tai chi workshop
Derived from the martial arts, tai chi is a physical discipline that forms part of traditional Chinese medicine. It is an all-encompassing form of energetic gymnastics involving continuous, circular movements performed slowly and precisely in a pre-established order. It helps you to become more aware of yourself through an inner approach, and to re-energise yourself.
Shiatsu and do-in workshop
Shiatsu and DO-in are massage and self-massage techniques. These massages help to manage stress and restore energy. These are Asian 'health' arts that have their roots in traditional Chinese medicine.
Reflexology workshop
Reflexology is a manual technique that frees the body's self-regulating and self-healing faculties on the feet, hands or face. Each reflex zone corresponds to an organ, gland or part of the body. By applying rhythmic pressure to these zones, it is possible to localise tension and restore balance to the corresponding parts of the body. This practice can relieve tension, stress and many other ailments (back pain, headaches, intestinal problems, etc.).
Yoga nidra
This workshop includes yoga:
Simple practices on breath awareness. Specific yoga postures beneficial for concentration. Duo yoga and relaxation techniques, some of which allow the body to fall asleep while the mind remains awake in immobility (this is sleep yoga), which is highly beneficial in the fight against stress, lack of self-confidence and insomnia. A whole range of techniques to help you refocus on your vital axis, get away from it all and recharge your batteries.
