The Carrefour des entreprises organised each year at the Kourou IUT is an opportunity for students to meet professionals in their field of study and build a network.
D or one day, on Thursday 2 March 2023, the 161 first- and second-year students from all the courses at the Kourou IUT met directly and freely with around ten companies.
This year, nearly twenty companies came together to meet students from the Kourou IUT (Akati'J, Albioma, Antea Group, AQLM, Centre Hospitalier de Kourou, CLUSIR, CNES, Côté Cube, Dymo-Bat, EDF, E2C, EPNAK, ESA, Geiq BTP, Geiq multisectoriel, Guyane la 1, etc.).eraIDEX BEM, IDOM Technologies, la Maison d'Accueil Spécialisé (MAS) de Kourou, Marlink, Nofrayane, Orange, PROGEA, Ribal TP, Telespazio, Systeko and Voltalia).
Organised by the IUT's Continuing Education and Work-linked Training Department (FCA) and the University Apprentice Training Centre (CFA-U), the aim of the day was to give students an opportunity to meet the world of work. From 9 a.m. to 2.30 p.m., the 260 students were invited to meet various players from the socio-economic world through conferences and round tables.
The conferences were hosted by the companies themselves. The themes of the presentations were linked to their activities and the different professions present in their establishment. Through these presentations, students were able to find out about different sectors of activity, some of the companies present in the region, and talk to them about the assignments they had carried out, future projects and vacancies (work placements, sandwich courses or recruitment).
Round-table discussions brought together companies and students to discuss topics relevant to their areas of expertise.
In Networks and Telecommunications, former students came to talk about their future studies and professional development.
Given its success, this event will be repeated. Both companies and students are keen to attend this type of event, which gives them the opportunity to prospect on the spot.
