The University of Guyana launches its «Call for thesis topics 2026» as part of its policy to support doctoral research. This call is aimed at laboratories wishing to propose thesis topics in line with the scientific priorities of French Guiana.

Objectives of the call for projects

The aim of this call for proposals is to strengthen the local roots of research carried out in French Guiana, by supporting thesis projects led by research units research. The aim is to encourage the emergence of innovative, structuring subjects that fit in with the major research themes supported by the’University.

The scheme also aims to guarantee high-quality supervision for doctoral students and to promote scientific skills locally, nationally and internationally.

  • This year the launch of thesis topics begins on 2 April 2026 and will end on 3 May 2026 at 23:59
  • The selection of subjects by the Doctoral School (ED) select committee will take place on Thursday 7 May 2026
  • Applications must be submitted between Monday 11 May and Thursday 4 June 2026 at 11.59pm
  • Finally, the hearing of the candidates before the ED's select committee will take place on Thursday 11 June 2026
