Objectives

The aim of the Master's degree in CIVIL ENGINEERING is to train technical managers in the building industry to implement the digital design and project management process (Building Information Modeling or BIM) within construction companies and design offices, to take account of sustainable development issues in tropical environments (sustainable construction and rehabilitation, re-use and circular economy, energy and environmental performance, etc.) and to integrate new technologies and their uses in the building industry.

Target skills

The Master's in Civil Engineering provides scientific, technical and managerial skills upgrading, through on-the-job training, for senior civil engineering technicians with a Bachelor's degree, to prepare them for a career as a building engineer.

Cross-disciplinary skills

Graduates will have acquired the following cross-disciplinary skills enabling them to integrate quickly into the professional world:

  • Ability to work in an international context
  • Working independently: setting priorities, managing time,
  • Working in a team: fitting in, positioning yourself, collaborating
  • Communicating: writing clearly, preparing appropriate communications media,
  • Speaking in front of a group and commenting on material.

Scientific and technical skills

  • Mastery of digital tools and the BIM process;
  • Mastery of technical regulations and sustainable development issues in tropical environments
  • Leading a project that can mobilise multi-disciplinary skills within a collaborative framework;
  • Managing complex, unpredictable professional or study contexts that require new strategic approaches.

Subject-specific skills

  • Innovative contributions to high-level exchanges ;
  • A reflective and distanced analysis that takes into account the issues, problems and complexity of a request or situation in order to propose appropriate and/or innovative solutions in line with changes in regulations;
  • Managing complex, unpredictable professional or study contexts that require new strategic approaches;
  • Taking responsibility for contributing to professional knowledge and practices and/or reviewing a team's strategic performance.

This broad range of skills means that they can move on to all related professions (project manager, project owner, ACA, ACE, TCE design engineer, price study engineer, methods engineer, BIM project manager, works engineer, technical controller, technical services manager, etc.). The professions targeted are :

Career opportunities

  • BIM Manager
  • Price study manager
  • Technical studies manager
  • Construction Methods Manager
  • Site manager

Sectors of activity

  • Technical design offices,
  • Architecture firms
  • Building and public works companies,
