Benefiting from close collaboration with the Guianese mining industry, they are trained in geology applied to the exploration and exploitation of subsoil resources, in the geology of the mining environment in Guiana and in the rehabilitation of sites in tropical environments.

  • Objective 1: Passing on scientific and technical knowledge that will enable students to deepen their knowledge and skills in specific occupations or to develop a second skill.
  • Objective 2: Promoting access to employment through interaction with professionals and experience in the world of work (tutored projects, work placements).
  • Objective 3 : Liaising with professionals to facilitate integration into the world of work.

The RNF-VALORESS LP trains field professionals capable of describing the characteristics of the subsoil and organising, administering and controlling a research, study or mining site.

  • Follow scientific protocols in the laboratory or in the field.
  • Analyse and interpret scientific results and provide food for thought.
  • Use and apply the fundamental mechanisms and laws associated with different subject areas (e.g. computing, statistical analysis, laboratory techniques, etc.).
  • Master the tools, techniques and processing procedures needed to understand and analyse geographical, cartographic or satellite information.

Cross-disciplinary skills

  • Taking part in conferences and carrying out bibliographical research into technical issues relating to geology, prospecting, mining and the environment.
  • Writing and supporting an end-of-course report.
  • Read, understand, write and express yourself in English.

Subject-specific skills

  • Collection, description and processing of geological, geotechnical, topographical and environmental data and analysis of their reliability.

  • Expertise in surface and subsurface prospecting techniques.
  • Support for monitoring exploration and production sites.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards (environment, mining law, workplace safety) and their application.
  • Coordination of site rehabilitation and revitalisation.
