Component : Kourou IUT
Domain: Technology
Mention : Electrical Engineering and Industrial Computing
Course : Electricity and Energy Management (EME)
Nature : Initial training leading to a degree and work-linked training from the 1st year.
Output level : Bac + 3 (180 ECTS)
Location: Kourou (Campus Bois Chaudat)

Objectives

  • The aim of the University Bachelor of Technology (BUT GEII) is to train middle managers capable of setting up and managing electrical installations, designing, producing, programming and maintaining fixed or on-board electronic boards (automotive, avionics, robotics, etc.), and automating and controlling industrial processes.
  • Graduates will also be able to manage and maintain industrial IT networks, and analyse and develop information processing and transmission systems.
  • In six semesters, the aim of the BUT GEII is to train managers with strong professional skills and a broad technological culture, who are also familiar with the cross-disciplinary aspects of the profession, such as team and project management.

Target skills

The aim of the Electricity and Energy Management (ÉMÉ) programme is to enable students to manage teams of technicians and work in collaboration with engineers in the design, testing and implementation phases, to monitor the production of electrical energy conversion systems and to participate in maintenance processes. This pathway will enable graduates to work in sectors linked to the production and distribution of electrical energy, industrial electrical installation, urban and rail transport, electrified vehicles, the navy, aeronautics and space, the operational safety of industrial systems, electromechanical converters and power electronics, electrical energy storage, industrial or humanoid robots, drones, renewable energies and energy efficiency. With the Electricity and Energy Management pathway, students will be taking part in the digital transformation of businesses and in the energy transition to the world of tomorrow (industry of the future, smart grid, smart city)!

Finally, students will be trained in electrical habitation to B1V level in the first year and then to BR level from the second year onwards.

They will also be offered internationally recognised certification in English.

Subject-specific skills

  • Design the GEII part of a system
  • Check the GEII part of a system
  • Maintaining a system in operational condition
  • Install all or part of an energy production, conversion and management system
