  • The Energy Master's programme trains students to meet the challenges posed by the profound structural changes in the way energy is produced and consumed (legislation on the energy transition, self-consumption of electricity, Guyana's obligation to be energy self-sufficient by 2030, etc.).
  • The aim of the Energy and Spatial Informatics for Isolated and Insular Networks (EISRII) Master's programme is to train students to master the methods and tools needed to develop energy projects in isolated territories by acquiring combined skills in the fields of energy and geomatics. It will train specialists capable of managing energy development projects with a territorial dimension by teaching them to master the analysis and modelling tools needed to develop energy production and distribution solutions for non-interconnected or isolated sites.

Target skills

The graduate will be able to carry out energy project development or management assignments in the context of non-interconnected and/or isolated electricity networks. The knowledge and skills on offer cover a broad spectrum of fundamental and applied sciences relating to: energy production, storage and management, analysis of process operation, problem diagnosis, the use of spatial computing (GIS, spatial databases) and project management.

Cross-disciplinary skills

  • Ability to work in an international context
  • Working independently: setting priorities, managing time,
  • Working in a team: fitting in, positioning yourself, collaborating
  • Communicating: writing clearly, preparing appropriate communications media,
  • Speaking in front of a group and commenting on material

Scientific and technical skills

  • Developing capabilities in energy management, storage and conversion,
  • Develop skills in analysing the operation of production processes and diagnosing problems.

Subject-specific skills

  • Graduates will be able to carry out the tasks assigned to a research, development or project management executive in a company, academic laboratory or local authority.
  • The knowledge and skills acquired will enable them to :
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team covering a broad spectrum of fundamental and applied sciences
  • Work in a disciplinary team on the management, storage or conversion of Energy
  • Analysing the operation of processes and proposing modifications to improve energy yields/efficiency.
  • Developing energy production and storage solutions for isolated and/or self-sufficient sites.
