C his first event focused on CIFRE grants, designed to boost innovation and competitiveness in companies through research and development. The main aim of the event was to raise awareness of the CIFRE scheme (Conventions Industrielles de Formation par la Recherche), support our young researchers and strengthen exchanges between our research laboratories and the business world. Several avenues of collaboration emerged to develop innovation in companies, particularly in the fields of renewable energies, food safety and training.
The CIFRE grant: accelerating competitiveness
The CIFRE grant, created by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research and managed by the National Association for Research and Technology (ANRT), provides a framework for the development of collaborative research between young researchers and companies. Recipients of this grant carry out their research projects both in their own laboratory and in their host company, encouraging a fruitful exchange between these two worlds.
A partnership for sustainable innovation in Amazonia
At a time when French Guiana is facing major economic and societal challenges, it is essential to capitalise on the ecological transitions underway in order to drive forward a development model that preserves the specific characteristics of the Amazon. The University of French Guiana is therefore committed to increasing its impact on the region by focusing its efforts on priority research areas such as global health, biodiversity, the dynamics of Amazonian societies and innovative technologies.
The collaboration between the University of Guyana and MEDEF Guyane, materialised by the signing of a partnership agreement on 14 September 2023, aims to strengthen the links between the academic world and the private sector in the fields of training, research and innovation. This partnership also responds to a key pillar of the AIBSI project, which aims to create a permanent bridge between research, the socio-economic sectors and citizens, by promoting exchanges between science and society.
Positioning sustainable innovation in Amazonia
The Carbet Business Dating around CIFRE grants highlighted the partnership between the UG and MEDEF Guyane, positioning this collaboration at the forefront of sustainable innovation in Amazonia. This event demonstrates the added value of this cooperation in the region and opens the way to new opportunities for the economic and social development of French Guiana.
