The 3PE Humanities degree course is organised into three blocks of courses. The courses taught at the lycée are designed to reinforce subject knowledge and skills in French, mathematics, history-geography, PE, philosophy, physical sciences, chemistry, science and technology, visual arts, music education and English. The courses taught at the DFR LSH allow students to specialise in literature. Other courses, including those taught at INSPE, as well as internships, enable students to progressively enter the profession of school teacher.

In L1, classes are held on Wednesdays at the university and on the other days at the Lycée Melkior-Garré. In L2 and the first semester of L3, classes are held two days a week at the lycée and two days a week at the university. In the second semester of L3, classes take place exclusively at the university. In L2 and L3, Thursdays are devoted to work placements in schools and pre-professionalization courses.

  • General literary and artistic knowledge (major periods, trends, genres);
  • Knowledge of the French language system ;
  • Ability to take account of the intercultural dimension in teaching and learning situations.

Admission

Recruitment level : bachelor's degree or equivalent

Accessible in :  initial training.

Training required : preferably a general baccalauréat, with a major in literature and the arts. Otherwise, other baccalauréat series or equivalent diploma.

Admission requirements : The 3PE arts degree is aimed at students with a solid grounding in French, an interest in literature and a desire to become schoolteachers. The course includes a large number of hours of tuition. A good capacity for work is expected.
