The Direction de l'Orientation, des Stages et de l'Insertion Professionnelle (Department of Guidance, Internships and Professional Integration) organised the award ceremony for the 9e PEPITE awards and the 2021/2022 student entrepreneur diplomas, on Thursday 29 September 2022 from 5pm to 7pm at Amphi A on the Troubiran Campus.
C ore than twenty students have been awarded the Diplôme Universitaire d'Étudiant Entrepreneur. This diploma is the culmination of training that has enabled these graduates to develop an entrepreneurial spirit with the aim of becoming citizens in tune with today's world. It validates their entrepreneurial skills. This session is the second since the diploma was created at the University of Guyana.
The PEPITE prize is awarded to the 5 best student projects in a competition launched by BPI France in partnership with the PEPITE network. The first prize is €10,000 provided that the winner opens his or her business within two years of the competition. The other winners receive €2,000 in the form of a business start-up grant and a laptop computer.
The ceremony was attended by MEDEF Guyane, the President of Réseau Entreprendre, Tony MIRANDE, and CTG elected representatives Philippe Bouba, Vice-President for Higher Education and Research, and Briquet, local councillor responsible for youth and community life.

Strengthening the entrepreneurial spirit
An agreement has been signed between Réseau Entreprendre and the University of Guyana to give new impetus to this scheme. Through this association of business leaders, the University aims to provide better support for young entrepreneurs in their business start-up projects.
