The Department of Arts and Humanities at the University of French Guiana is firmly committed to innovation in the world of research and education. A major component of the university in terms of the number of courses offered and its student enrolment, the Department of Arts and Humanities maintains its strong commitment to offering a diverse and robust range of courses that meet the intellectual, professional and cultural demands of a rapidly changing society.
Activity
The curriculum is organised into 6 semesters, over 3 years, at the end of which the Bachelor's degree is awarded. Semester 1 is a common core for all students. Students choose their major (or stream) from the second semester of the first year (from January). Changes of direction are possible with the help of teachers and the guidance service. Each semester is organised into core teaching units (UEO), pathway units (UEP) and complementary teaching units (UEC). Masters courses are also organised into semesters.
